Yard vehicle for large county services shop. Mechanic called me with the symptoms and I recommended an EPC and possible seperator plate. Mechanic also replaced the Manifold Pressure Switch. None of these corrected the problem. They brought the truck to us and we pulled the unit. Can find nothing wrong with the unit upon inspection. Thought maybe some internal case wear, but none present. Also, scanned for codes and none present.

Problem
Very harsh engagement into either OD or D. Normal engagement in 2 and 1. The reverse engagement is normal. For the harsh engagement it can be from either Park, Reverse or Nuetral. Doesn't seem to matter what gear it comes from just happens in OD or D. Anyone seen this before? Unfortunately, NO we did not do a pressure test before we pulled the unit. Cause I know you guys are going to ask me that.
