Problem Information
engine kills in reverse
during test , after trans is warm
overhauled 5 months ago , forward clutches were burnt, full overhaul
Problem
after test driving when trans is warm , I put it in to reverse to back up and the engine kills immediately. Seems to me the torgue converter goes into lockup. I had taken trans out and pulled apart and seen nothing to be concerned with except a brown burnt ring on the exterior of the torque converter so it was replaced with another. Put trans back together with new converter and placed back in truck. After driving a few miles pulled over onside of road and put it in reverse; killed engine immediatly. when I had trans down I tore pump apart and pulled the valves, none seemed to be sticky or stuck.
