Overhauled this trans about 10 years ago. Came in last month with slipping lockup. Pan was clean, fluid a little dark but not bad. Pulled trans and installed triple with 48RE pump and seal ring. We've had good luck doing this and since this truck regularly hauls a combined weight of about 19,000 lbs thought it a good idea.
Truck came back a week later with delayed 3-4 shift and LU. Cleaned batt. terms, grounds on block, new ground wire from apps to battery ground, ran new wire from apps to tcm and replaced alternator and belt. Seemed ok. 2 days later back with same problem.
Scoped tps and noticed some roughness to the signal. Ordered new apps.

Problem
Now we put on the new apps and the problem is still there. Maybe worse. When cold you take it out on the road and it shift 1-2-3 then the scan tool shows LU on. But its not on. Keep driving for say 5 miles and no LU. Come to a stop and take off again and it will probably lockup, but it will start cycling. And the lockup AND the 3-4 go together. Other then a new computer it seems we've done almost everything we know. Any ideas?
Update
Well we've fixed the cycling. An RFI filter on the tps wire to the pcm fixed it. But we still have the late/ no/ intermitant lock-up. We're begining to think it's somehow a converter issue believe it or not. A new converter today will tell.
