Problem Information

Overheats
After 4th gear
Vehicle came to us in limp mode with several transmission electrical faults. We found both internal and external wire harnesses bad at the transmission. If you wiggled the connector all voltages would go to 5 volts. We replaced both solenoids with harness, governor sensor and solenoid, filter and external transmission connector.

Problem

While test driving the vehicle the trans temp went to 244 degrees. We brought it back to the shop and all of the cooler lines were room temp (no flow). We removed the lines and checked for a restriction. No restriction found. We put the lines back on and let the truck idle in neutral. Trans temp went to 127 and all coolers were flowing and temps matched. We test drove the vehicle again and after being in overdrive 4 miles the temp shot to 239 degrees. We drove the truck back to the shop in 3rd gear. Once at the shop we found the oil to air cooler was ambient temperature (no flow). Need help finding why cooler stops flowing.
