Current Customer Complaint:
high shift points
Work Completed This Visit:
Replaced valve body ( new ) and all solenoids.
Summary:
Hey all, this truck shifts great until it gets warm, when you go into park or reverse and back into drive it will apply firmer, then it will shift higher. Pedal actually seems to have a stiff spot. when you step on it and get past the stiff spot it will upshift and continue upshifting fine, until you stop and select park/reverse.Checked throttle cables for binding, all good, checked linkage at transmission also no problems there. Replaced valve body yesterday was thinking all was good and it did it again. Has anyone seen the APPS create this problem? Thanks in advance for your help.
Update
Quick update...... okay, so I noticed that while in reverse the throttle becomes very stiff. A lot stiffer than when you are in drive. Had some one in the truck put it in reverse, while i was underneath i unhooked the tv cable and tried to move the throttle valve linkage. It has a ton of resistance and the harder i push on it i eventually get it to move. To me it seems like reverse pressure is crossleaking into tv pressure? original valve body had wear in Throttle valve bore. I am installing superior kit right now as well as installing sonnax oversize throttle valve, hopefully this will change something. I don't understand why new valve body (in truck already) had same results?
