melted front planetary
after overhaul
none
truck came un with no 3rd or 4th. overhauled with all clutchs seals, transgo lockup reg valve, epc. originaly had burnt 3-4 and slightly burnt band. all geartrain perfect.
did not scan on return. originally no codes either
Problem
installed trans had 2-3 flair and funny 1-2 shift. pressure test showed low epc pressure. removed valve body, checked all. replaced epc again. truck worked great for about 5-10kms(including lockup 0-5rpm slip). then lost 2-3 and 3-4 shift. while turning around it bound up in rev. after removing trans found front planetary melted. lube seal was instralled into drum.
