Problem Information
burning od clutch pak
sets po871
torque converter, pump, input hub
no 4th and 5th with code po871. upon teardown noticed od clutch pac toasted and pump stator and the input hub was damaged . looks to be a check valve "ball" broke out of the inside of pump stator and found its way between the stator and hub and rode there and made a canal between sealing rings
Problem
after a 100 miles of being driven . the no 4th and 5th with same code. tore down and od clutch pack were toasted again. replaced them , replaced solenoid pak , checked orifices, added the plug to transducer to add a little more pressure, checked accumulators, tore down drum for cut seals but none. Put trans back in drove it to dodge to get relearned and on the way back code po871 is back and 4th and 5th no more within a 40 mi drive. right na i have trans back on table and apart and the od pak were starting to scorch. air checks nicely on bench. Need help. thanks didn't really remember what size engine in truck the above listed is a guess will repost back if wrong.
