TRNi Forum Feedback CD
Complete Database of Past Posts |
The TRNi Feedback CD's each contain a ton of very valuable information that must be removed from our website every year to free up disc space on our server. The entire year of e-mail archives from three out of our four e-mail forums;
Every single post from the 3 main forums are all included in an indexed database that allows you to browse the available forum topics and click on the one's that interest you the most. This feature was just introduced to the TRNi website in January 2002, but the format was constructed into all of the Feedback CD's. This new format has made the Forum Feedback (archives) section of the TRNi website into a very valuable tool. The Forum Feedback database contains every single e-mail message ever posted. Therefore, there is a ton of information in the Feedback Database that you will not find in the Fix Database. And with the new index pages, it is easier than ever to find the thread you are looking for.
- TRNi-1: The Technical Problem Forum
- TRNi-2: The Technical Discussion Forum
- TRNi-3: The Non-Tech (Management) Forum
A Search Engine is also included, which enables you to search the CD for certain words or phrases. For example, if you are trying to find all posts that relate to a 4L60E with no upshift, then the search engine would be the quickest way to find them all. In addition, you can set up the search engine to search your hard drive, or the CD.
The TRNi Feedback CD's also contain the entire year of TRNi forum e-mails bundled with Eudora, a powerful e-mail client that can be setup to use strictly for searching and/or reading the TRNi mail. The TRNi-Eudora setup file will install the Eudora e-mail client on your computer, and then it will copy the entire year of TRNi mail into the appropriate Eudora data folder. When you start up Eudora for the first time, the TRNi mail will already be there for your viewing pleasure. Eudora also has a powerful search feature which enables you to find all posts that relate to a particular transmission type or common failure. The search can be directed to any part of the message header, or the entire message body. You can also narrow your search to seperate years, and E-mail Forums. If the Eudora search feature is used correctly, then there is no reason to install the Alta Vista Search Engine.
Each Feedback CD also includes the entire TRNi website as it appeared at the end of each appropriate year. This allows you to view the Tech Tips, Fix Database, etc, without having to be connected to the Internet. You will be amazed at how much faster the TRNi website loads off of a CD. You will save time, and time is money.
Past years of TRNi forum feedback are available on the CD only. You cannot access past years of forum feedback from the website.
