Once you have it connected, it is your choice of how you want to diagnose the system. You can use it to do a SOLENOID test. This test lets you send voltage to the solenoids and watch OHMS, VOLTS, or my favorite, AMPS at the solenoids. Super feature.
Next you can choose MONITOR, which allows you to just standby and see what signals are being sent to and from the transmission, at the case connector. This is where the rubber meets the road, on seeing what signals are actually being sent to the transmission. I have found many times just because a scanner commands a shift, doesn't mean the signal reaches the transmission. This feature will also help you find those glitches that happen so fast, even the PCMs don't catch it and set codes. A real time saver.
Next you can choose MANUAL override. It allows you to set the PCM on standby and you can send your own signals to the transmission. The possibilities and flexibility of the manual override are countless. If you're in the transmission business, then the TransX2000 is a real plus in quick accurate diagnosing.
